How to cultivate the Qi?

What is the most efficient way to cultivate the Qi? Sleep well, eat well and discharge well are the top three secrets. TJQ could be the other tool if we practice correctly. What do I mean "correctly"? Our Qi flows inside our body through meridians, just like the tap water flows in a pipe from the water treatment plant to our houses. The tap water will loose pressure if there are minor leaks or blockages in the pipelines. By the same token, our Qi will be stagnated at spots of the poor posture, as the arrows and crosses shown on the photo below.

No matter how frequent we practice TJQ, the health benefits will not be significant if we have a poor posture during the practice. To be worse, we might hurt our knees because bending too much incorrectly during the frequent practice.


So the first step to learn TJQ is to understand what is the right posture and to identify the areas of your body that need to be improved. It usually requires a teacher to point out which part of our body does not aligned correctly. There are also simple ways to figure out by ourselves as long as we understand what is perfect alignment. I will discuss at a later time.
